Vinni debut at the National Theatre with vulnerable lyrics from own life – TV 2

On Friday night the stage was set for a slightly different show at the venerable National Theatre when the event SPKRBOX took the main stage.

SPKRBOX is the first and only hip-hop theater, “a meeting place for hip hop heads and theater nerds. A creative collision with low threshold, high-level and laidback atmosphere “according to the festival’s website.

The first time at the National Theatre

One of hip-hop artists who stood on the National Theatre’s main was Øyvind “Vinni” Sauvik. It was the first time the artist played on such traditional main stage, which he thought was pretty scary.

But he Friday showed the audience was actually an excerpt from a show he’ll put up on Thorshovteateret in connection with Ibsen Festival next year.

Vinni debuts therefore that playwright and actor next year.

And it is particularly one word that best describes what he will be performing .

– Yes, vulnerable I would say is an adequate word for it, he said to TV 2.

Autobiographical hiphop theater

Vinni says openly and honestly about his life, from childhood growing up in Africa, what has happened in private life in recent years.

Both episodes from childhood, meeting with Alcoholics Anonymous and how it was when my wife went from him, the topic that will be addressed.

– Only reason that his wife was at home at that moment was that she looked after our son while I was at that damn meeting. When I got home, so she came to tuck. To another place, another apartment, another life, he said from the stage about how it was when he first got in touch with Alcoholics Anonymous.

– I can only my life i. It is the only life and the only story I’ve said Vinni about the show to TV2.

Another of the episodes he cites are from childhood in Zambia.

– I was five years old and had had enough. I was in Zambia and as usual in place in the international kindergarten, a place I insofar thrived quite well. I do not remember why I stuck, but it is certainly my first memory of succumbing to the urge to be somewhere else. And it would really not be the last time. I did not come in goal then and has strictly speaking never done it since either, but it’s not because I have not tried, says the artist from the scene.
