Oslo (NTB-Gitte Johannessen): – This is the last disc where I’m going to be depressed over your love life.
Thom Hell smiles in his beard, he is holding a coffee cup in Østbanehallen and has just delivered her son in kindergarten.
On a normal day, he would now have had musical office from nine to three, and tried to do something – just as he has read writers should write a thousand words a day.
restructured
– I have become more structured. Writing every day generates more inspiration, says Thom Hell.
Therefore also comes his new album, Saturday clear “Until This Blows Over”, just eighteen months after the last record. And contains what he calls a “u-Thom Hellsk” song that pointed ahead to the next – and heartbreak free – album which is almost ready, and that he hopes to release in 2016.
– When I first sitting there and have imposed myself to make something, I play myself. Then comes the mass that can not wait.
Now on bass
Now manages Thom Hell never to fool anyone with the characteristic sounding voice that puts his distinct signature. He would never put away the melody is the most important for him.
But without the free jazz that has taken Hell, he has toyed with other sounds. For where he first was bored guitar and tried piano, he has now gone bored piano. And when was the bass.
– There is no doubt that the bass is the coolest instrument! he laughs and says that the song “Lonely Girl” is based bass and written when he “sat at home and played bass.”
It took him out on new paths also theme-related – and thus the promise not to kjærlighetsdeppe more on the plate after this seventh album.
– It’s true, what I sing about in “Until This Blows Over.” But there are ancient texts I have retrieved, from another time, or I intend me back there when I have written new, says Thom Hell NTB, three and a half years after he explained how the fifth album “Suddenly Past» was written after the breakup with Marit Larsen.

– Everything else
He’s already material enough for a new album and says he took a decision on the lyrics of it.
– I decided to write about everything else! That it was not allowed to write about love affairs. It is really fun to write about trivial things, it adds music something completely different, he says softly.
– But cheerful do not you?
When he laughs. Loud, and admits:
– I have found out long ago that I like the sad. This is not something up -tempo. As children were the nicest I knew, “We must love the snow” with Jørn Hoel. As 8-10 age I liked best Sivert Dagsland and Jan Eggum.
