Superstar Ashton Kutcher and media from around the world have opened his eyes to Plan Norway blog stunt of “Thea” children’s wedding.
In the middle September launched Plan Norway the fake blog “Thea’s Wedding Blog” – a blog that purports to be about a Norwegian 12-year-old to be married off to 37-year-old, Geir.
The blog was created to raise awareness about children who are married off and the consequences this entails. This is according to Plan Norway a widespread practice in several places in the world, and they point to statistics that say that 39 000 children brides married off every day.
The blog got in early benefited the social media of Norwegian celebrities and could boast high numbers a few days after launch. The website also created strong reactions among the Norwegian public relations experts.
Now the blog, however, that an epidemic on social media, and tonight also reported a real superstar on. Ashton Kutcher, with its small impressive 18 million followers, posted this evening a Facebook post about the Norwegian campaign.
