The film, which was shot on a budget, summer and fall of 2011, claimed two lives. Producer Daniel Henriksbø and photographer Mats Bjarg was caught by a wave when they were filming a storm along the coast of Rogaland.
– Everything stopped. All energy disappeared. That we still, after deep personal sorrow, and several practical difficulties, managed to reach the finish with the film through faith and hard work, I am incredibly grateful for, says director Paul Magnus Lundø.

A personal film
Twilight country is a thriller of the year of our Lord 1384 William returns to his home town Garsli to find her brother Ansgar, who has disappeared after being accused of being behind a number of grotesque murders that has been terrifying the inhabitants. Rumor has it that Ansgar is in league with creatures from the underworld, therefore, the church wanted him to curse. But William neither believe in devils or wizards, and decides to find out what has happened.
Among skuerspillerne Kim Bodnia, Sverre Anker Ousdal and Jørgen Langhelle.
– The is a thriller, but also a deeply personal film. The latter is due to everything that happened during the recording, but also the film’s content. Twilight Land is a confrontational film, but also a reconciliation film. The biblical story of the prodigal son is as the backdrop, where an important question is whether William and Ansgar become friends again, says Lundø.

The good and evil
As a director, but also as a screenwriter along with Ronnie MAG Larsen, there have been inevitable that he has left parts of themselves in the film.
– I hope all artists affect what they do with who they are, says Lundø.
Although it is an adventure film, says the director portrays the Middle Ages in Norway as it was.
– This is a dark film with a lot of potential for conflict, because the community was so. Black Death ravaged, as did the struggle between good and evil. Devils and spiritual beings was a key part of both church and society. William the film should not hesitate to confront the authorities. I myself am an old punker, and see the positive in his opposition to both the church and the king.

Been a better person
Paul Magnus Lundø previously worked on other people’s films, with different television series. The first feature film which is now run clear, think he could easily have ended up with him and screenwriter colleague Ronnie M.AG. Larsen had sat there like two jokers who thought they would make great film.
– It was a low budget film outside of the established film community. We suffered a great tragedy. Several of us had yet ståltro the project. In Sokndal, how much was filmed, asked the village’s motorcycle club and chapel setting up the volunteer effort.
– Has worked with the film changed you as a person?
– Yes, in the highest degree. The accident, grief and solidarity afterwards I think has made me a better person. I have a new outlook on people; become much less prejudiced. Since I believe life is spilling over into art, it is marked enough in the film. Since art can spill over into life, the film can also impact the lives of those who see it. But they have to face it with an open mind, says Paul Magnus Lundø.
