- For once, we did nothing wrong – VG

Host Jerermy Clarkson tells his version of rock drama in Argentina.

Back home in England, he takes on his twitter account to speak out against what he believes is an incorrect version of events when Top Gear team was practically stoned out of the country Thursday.

– Someone could have been killed, he writes.

BBC profile and his team were Argentina to record a program when everything went wrong.

It was the license plate on Clarkson’s Porsche which was not well received in Argentina, writes the British newspaper Daily Mail.

Clarkson drove namely a Porsche with the number plate “H982 – FKL”, which was perceived as a reference to the Falklands War between Britain and Argentina in 1982.

This was not well received in Argentina.

Enraged crowds should have attacked the TV crew and cars with stones.

Finally had presenters escorted out by the police escort, then furious Argentines tokk themselves at the stayed at the Daily Mail.

The newspaper writes that the rest of the crew tried to get to the border with the cars, as Protestants attacked.

Dismissing criticism

A Porsche associated Clarkson, a Lotus accompanying James May drove and a Ford Mustang that Richard Hammond had run – was abandoned by the roadside after the attack, which occurred near the town of Tolhuin.

Photos from the event show that the abandoned cars are both shattered and abandoned.

The local judge Juan Manuel Romano said according to the Daily Mail that the license plates on the two other cars may be linked to the war.

Ford Mustang had license plates 269, which is not too far off 255 – ie the number of people killed in the war. The lotus had license plates 646, which is close to 649 – the number of damaged Argentines in connection with the war.

The production company behind the popular TV show rejects, however, that the license plates were chosen deliberately.

– Claims that this car was chosen because of the number plate, or that the license plate was replaced, totally untrue, said producer Andy Wilman Thursday.
