Poppe film, with French Juliette Binoche in the lead role as a war photographer in Afghanistan, received three awards during the evening. It also secured Amanda statuettes for Best Cinematography (John Christian Rosenlund) and Best Music (Arman Amar).
There was Culture Minister Thorhild Widwey (KrF) who shared the main prize at Poppe and his great team from Paradox .
– As high as it is this year, it’s fantastic to get the price. And this film is made on the previous government’s culture budget. Keep in mind that, shouted Poppe from price podium to cheers and laughter from the audience.
The most successful film was still directing debut Eskil Vogt Blind.
Vogt was particularly pleased getting Best Director. It was his second Amanda, after that in 2007 he received the award for best screenplay for the movie Replay together with Joachim Trier.
– Your film this time was nominated for seven awards. Was this the most important thing for you to win?
– I just love that my actors should win awards here tonight, but I’m awful glad for this. It is the first time I’ve organized the responsibility for a film, he said.
Straight afterwards Ellen Dorrit Petersen awarded the prize for Best Actress.
– Thank you for taking me on this journey, said Petersen from price podium. When the film premiered at the Sundance film festival in January, she and the film very good reviews of international film critics.
Blind prevailed also in classes for best sound design (Gisle Tveito) and Best Editing (Jens Christian Fodstad). The first prize in the direct part of the program, for best supporting actress, went to Ivan Anderson for her efforts in Hisham Zaman Letter to the King .
– Thank you! I’m so nervous. I do not speak Norwegian, said it clearly touched the actress in English.
The award was presented by Aksel Hennie. He later won himself the award for Best Actor for the film Pioneer .
Herbert Nordrum was named Best Supporting Actor for the film Pornopung . It is his first role in the film.
– I thought whatsoever that I would get this award, so I reacted by becoming very nervous, he said right after getting the heavy Amanda statuette in hands.
He has been on numerous auditions, but not yet received any new role.
Last year’s most watched Norwegian film, Solan and Ludvig – Christmas Flåklypa , was named the best children’s film.
The award for best screenplay went to Hisham Zaman Letter to the King .
Erik Poppe presented the award to this year Best Documentary. It went to Light fly, Fly high , by directors Susann Østigård and Beathe Hofseth.
People Amanda, based on a reader poll at Dagbladet, went to Mikkel Brænne Sandemose adventure film The riddle Ragnarok .
Finally got a stirred Elsa Lystad awarded the Jury Special Award from a veteran, Liv Ullmann.
