Tyldum got Oscar, at Kove – Aftenbladet.no

Morten Tyldum “The Imitation Game” won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay, but Torill Kove not reaching up this year.

“The Imitation Game” was nominated for eight awards, but had to settle award for best adapted screenplay. Screenwriter Graham Moore received the award of paying Oprah Winfrey.

For the first time

The winners of the best main roles and supporting roles all won Academy Awards for the first time.

Julianne Moore received Academy Award for Best Actress for her game in “Still Alice”, while the award for best leading actor went to Eddie Redmayne for “The Theory of Everything.”

The actor JK Simmons won best supporting actor in “Whiplash”. The film also won the Oscar for best sound mixing and editing.

Patricia Arquette secured Oscar Best Supporting Actress in “Boyhood”.

– For every woman who has given birth, to every taxpayer and citizen in this country, we have fought for rights of all others. Now it’s our turn to have equal pay once and for all and equal rights for women in the United States, said Arquette for tonight yet powerful and heartfelt applause.

Polish “Ida”

The award for best foreign language film went to Polish “Ida”. The black / white film is partly Danish produced and the music is by Danish Kristian Eidnes Andersen.

The director Pawel Pawlikowski accepted the award as he was favorite to win. The film is about a nun in Poland in 1962 who discovers that she is born Jew.

– We made a movie … about the need for silence and contemplation and to withdraw from the world – and here vi. In the center of the noise and the world’s attention. It is amazing, I can tell you. Life is full of surprises, said a very grateful award winning Polish director.

Oscar to Eastwoods film

Clint Eastwood’s latest film – “American Sniper” – was awarded the Oscar for best sound editing.

Prices for best costumes, best makeup and hair, scenography and original music went to Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel”. The film was nominated for a total of nine awards.

The award for best documentary went to “Citizen Four” which is about the American defector Edward Snowden.

Having performed his song “Glory” from “Selma” to a standing ovation and many teary eyes, could John Legend and Common accept the award for best original song.

Julie Andrews was honored with a medley from “Sound of Music”, 50 years after the film wildfire worldwide.

She even shared the award for best original music of composer Alexandre Desplat, who won for the music to “The Grand Budapest Hotel”.
