It was morning in Twin Peaks, northwest of the United States when young Laura Palmer was found on the riverbank, dead and wrapped in plastic.
The event was the start of the TV series “Twin Peaks” on April 8, 1990; were talks that has remained until today.
The series surreal atmosphere and mix of classic murder story, humor and the supernatural foundation for a whole new era for TV series segment.
The long lines and tells the complex, mysterious characters: TV drama was never the same again.

Series creator David Lynch was already a well-known director-size when the series premiered on American ABC. He was featured for its surrealistic style and to let such a wayward type well make TV series on a wide TV channel was undeniably a venture.

* The series got Norwegian premiere fall of 1990.
* TV series was created by David Lynch, who has also directed films like “Blue Velvet” and “Mulholland drive,” and Mark Frost.
* The spoke two seasons and 30 episodes and quickly gained cult status.
* The series is about the murder of teenager Laura Palmer found dead in the small American town Twin Peaks. The incident affects the entire area as well the local police station to youngsters.
* FBI agent Dale Cooper is called in to solve the riddle and pulled soon into a mystery where both supernatural phenomena and everyday evil are constant elements.
* A feature film, “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me”, was also made, and it got premiered by series end.

– Today opens up more channels for experimental and original series, but at the time it was unusual, says TV and film critic Martin Degrelle.
He believes “Twin Peaks,” as in Norway got released in autumn 1990 clearly was stylishly creative and paved the way for a type of story that we now almost take for granted within the voltage range.
Not least was the mixture between the mysterious world and the everyday which triggered, he believes according to TT – and stresses that a series like “X Files” has very much to thank “Twin Peaks” for.
Much unanswered
25 BIrthDay ended in a way that makes a lot still feels unanswered. There were many film critics who liked and many are asking now skeptical that a third season scheduled. Especially as it seems that David Lynch did not join the auspices since, although the script according to Deadline is finished.
Recently, it was clear that he did not think the budget he got, extends to when it comes to creating a new “Twin Peaks” -season.
Showtime and Lynch had first big plans for nine new paragraph, and several of the original actors, as Kyle MacLachlan as Agent Cooper, has agreed to muster on.
The series’ co-creator Mark Frost, has not stated how he will cope without Lynch. But the actors in the series has gone to full action and made a video where they urgently asks to Lynch back in directing chair.
Among other says Sheryl Lee – aka “Laura Palmer”: – “Twin Peaks” without David Lynch is a girl without a secret.
Original ensemble from Twin Peaks, represented here by Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie, Sheryl Lee and Russ Tamblyn, fronts an appeal to David Lynch back to the planned sequel.
