Gimle cinema, Oslo (page2): Jakob Oftebro is one of the most sought after actresses. And not only in Norway – we also need to compete with the rest of Scandinavia about the young actress.

Next week he premiered ready in the Danish fantasy film “Ashamed Cleaning daughter.” The film is based on the book series of the same name, and is a real adventure movie, with dragons, magical abilities and battle for the throne.

Smaller budgets

– There are cool that Scandinavia focuses on fantasy. At first I was worried it would look tough enough. But they got it, he smiles.

He notes that Scandinavian films must deal with completely different budgets than in Hollywood.

– We must measure muscle with “Lord of the Rings,” “Harry Potter” and “Game of Thrones.” But we have no more than a tenth, often only one hundredth, of Americans budget, says he said.

– It’s like training

Since the film is Danish, speaks Norwegian, Danish film. He moved to Denmark for almost eight years ago, and he has received positive feedback on their Danish pronunciation. But he says that it is challenging to cram lines in another language.

– It’s like training. I work enough twice as much, if not three times as much, with the text. It takes more time to get it to sit in the body. But it is very fun, he says.

Feeling different

“Ashamed Cleaning daughter” is about young Dina. She is, as her mother, the so-called “chamber.” A chamber can see into the soul of people, thus know what they are ashamed of, lying about and tries to hide.

One day retrieved Dina and her mother to the castle. Prince family is murdered and the prince son Nico (Oftebro) accused of murder. Now skammerne get him to confess. But Dina and her mother realize fast that Nico is innocent. This puts both them and Nico in danger.

Oftebro says that the film is about being different.

– And to dare to be different. Dina will first do not stand out, but she will have. I even remember what it was like to be 11 to 12 years and feel the fear of being different, he says.

Did you ever feel differently?

– I think everyone does it at that age. It will then gladly be like everyone else, but do not feel that it is, he says.

He is in no doubt he would have dared to face a chamber, if it had been a real phenomenon.

– It must be incredibly uncomfortable. I realize that many people do not appreciate the property, he said.

How do you think the world would be if there were chambers?

– I think people would have been terrified. Imagine if they had submitted a bunch chambers on Wall Street after bank crash, he laughs and continues:

– But they would have been popular on the talk shows. Fredrik Skavlan’d probably had a chamber in the studio every Friday.
