In the sequel to “Magic Mike” does not get moviegoers longer see Matthew McConaughey taking off his clothes.
He played the stripper boss Dallas in the 2012 film, which also Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello was seeing. But while these three emerging roles again in “Magic Mike XXL”, has now McConaughey has had to cancel. It confirmed director Gregory Jacobs, who took over for the first film by Steven Soderbergh, to Indie Wire.
Tatum Channing, who in addition to playing the lead role has also helped to write and produce “Magic Mike” – loosely based on his own experiences, have long believed that the whole ensemble would join the sequel.
But Matthew McConaughey is currently busy filming Gus Van Sant drama “The Sea of Trees”, while recording the “Magic Mike XXL” begins in late September. Jacobs believes the film does well without the “Dallas” -karakteren:
– There is a road movie, and to say it: It’s so different when you see it you realize why we made a sequel. No one can accuse us of making the same movie over again.
