While not an excellent soundtrack and the country’s best comedians can help this first Norwegian trotting comedy to reach the finish.
Director Ole Endresen and actor Atle Antonsen has this time chosen a trot environment as a venue for a comedy where they follow the same recipe from Kong Curling : They have collected prolific actors and television comedians who they let get roomy with games, often at the expense of an area they do not hide the fact that they care less about.
Here are the most outrageous characters to be lift the film, and creates no expectations Beast, played by Antonsen, a torpedo is notified early in the movie will appear. He put on the trail of the bankrupt trot coachman Bjarte Lem (Edward Schultheiss) who are involved in the kidnapping of trotting horse Berlusconi to deal with his nymphomaniac wife’s debt.
We are sitting and waiting for the animal, he is after each film’s dark horse that will trigger our laughter on the home stretch to get this film into the net.
But it never happens. Here are several of the country’s finest television comedians together, but it never takes off.
Endresen and Antonsen has collaborated successfully before, especially in the TV series Administration . But where simplicity and the game gave us a more hushed chuckles in the series, it is the game and excesses that here you get for free rein. It is obviously meant to be over the top, but neither the lines or situations are properly funny. Schultheiss has a difficult role: he will react more than act on all the incredible happening around him, and ends a little too often look like a frightened squirrel.
It is not easy to film and theater actors to harmonize the game with TV comedians without much experience. While Floberg and Øigarden play dramatic roles, and is monolithic in its professionalism, the television comedians swaggering style sometimes too static and slow moving. Floberg played smågangster before the Unrest and Uno , but is just an empty cliché this time, although he clearly loves gangsterkarikaturen.
It’s not often you see a new Norwegian film that boasts an equally compelling soundtrack. It adds a dynamism in many of the scenes that Tarantino would nod approvingly to. But it’s still not enough to give the film a significant enough boost.
Reportedly planning Endresen a new gangster comedy from Boler. Then I will recommend him to take a few extra rounds in the script phase.
