The singer Joe Cocker’s death. He died of lung cancer Monday, according to Sony Music.

Bernhoft characterized the time Cocker as a pub singer and adopted him as his own “grandfather.”

Joe Cocker visited Norway last in 2013. Then he held a concert at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden.

The duet with Jennifer Warnes, Up Where We Belong, from the film “An Officer and a Gentleman” was a No.. 1 hit and won both a Grammy and an Academy Award.

According to the BBC he started his singing career in pubs and clubs in Sheffield 60s before making through earnest. He was very well known for its cover version of With a Little Help From My Friends, which almost became his trademark.

Beating through 1964

John Robert Cockers broke through internationally already in 1964 and has had a loyal fan base all the way. He made nearly 40 albums and toured extensively throughout the world. The BBC writes.

Cocker was born in Sheffield, England, but moved to the United States and Colorado where he died of lung cancer at his home Monday. He is survived by wife, a stepdaughter and two grandchildren.
