The Swedish party leader for the first time agreed to be interviewed about the controversial appearance on “Skavlan”. Expressen he says that he does not feel badly treated.
– I do not feel particularly humiliated. For me it was like any other interview. It is perhaps what has listed many – they expected them maybe something else because it was in the program.
– Compared to how other politicians have been treated in the program so as there maybe a little different.
Skavlan interview with Åkesson led to a record number of complaints to NRK Broadcast Advisory and broadcaster has received much criticism for the behavior during the interview with the head of Sweden Democrats. The majority of petitioners believed Skavlan behaved disrespectfully and harassing above Åkesson.
The reason he got tougher treatment than other politicians ascribe Åkesson criticism in advance of the program.
– interview was as expected. Fredrik Skavlan enough genuinely interested in people and I think that is why his approach, but he and the editors had a fairly strong pressure on themselves as they received criticism in advance because I should be with. You have to get the criticism forestalled.
Åkesson says he chose to set up in “Skavlan” because he felt it was right program to talk about his illness.
– It felt like the right forum for the story I wanted to tell. It is not possible to talk about these things in the same way in “Agenda” or “Aktuellt” (Swedish debate and policy programs, journ.anm.).
