An epic winter challenge is going to happen in a week.
At a secret location outside Oslo will Therese Johaug, Emil Hegle Svendsen, Rune Velta and Terje Haakonsen of “Team Norway” compete against Top Gear “The Stig”, which for the occasion will drive a Mini World rally car, 1.6 turbo.
This will happen in conjunction with the BBC’s launch of BBC Brit, a new TV channel in Scandinavia, including send Top Gear.
– The Stig will compete against four legendary Norwegian athletes, which is world renowned for top medal statistics when they compete. This is going to be an incredibly competitive, and must best team win, says the director of BBC Worldwide, Richard Hornsby-Smith in a statement.
Therese Johaug looking forward to the competition.
– This is a very different competition than what I usually compete in. I’ll go skiing uphill as fast as I can, and The Stig will run. Let’s see who is the hardest on the gas, challenger Therese.
The Stig will run in an orbit with challenges that fits.
The whole competition will be thoroughly documented by the BBC, who will be present with 17 cameras, three drones, one crane and over 40 mini cameras placed around the track.
– We will catch all the excitement so we can share this with fans worldwide, says Hornsby-Smith.
