Movie review ‘Fifty Shades fax menu”: Annoying retningsløs – VG

Movie number two in the “Fifty Shades”trilogy is better than its predecessor. It does not mean that it is good.

DRAMA/ROMANCE

the united STATES. 15 years. Director: James Foley

With: Dakota Johnson, Jamie Dornan, Rita Ora, Luke Grimes, Kim Basinger, Eric Johnson

One thing to “Fifty Shades fax menu”: the Film is it is far from the most predictable and who has seen the light of day, what comes to romantic dramas. Just that is an accomplishment in itself. That the love blossom between the recently graduated litteraturstudenten Anastasia Steel (Dakota Johnson), better known as Ana, and mangemillionæren Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan), is well communicated. It is also the longing and the passion between the two. Thus have the sequel definitely notch more depth than the first film in the trilogy, “Fifty Shades of Grey”. It doesn’t mean that it is good.

It is uncertain how long it has passed since the Ana, in the previous film, stormed out of grey’s apartment when his urge to punish for the pleasure was too much for her. But Grey manages not to keep away from the irresistible Ana and asks for a second chance. This time without rules, punishment and secrets. Something in the direction of a normal relationship, in other words. But relax, they fyrrige the sex scenes have not disappeared because of it. Is it something that is not to be mistaken, then it’s that the Ana like to allow themselves to be undermined – to a certain extent. It seems to go well until a shadow from the past threatens us falling in love, and Ana to get struggle a bit to reconcile with grey’s bygone times.

In the beginning, it is reassuring to see that the Ana taking more control in the meeting with Grey, and

he seem to be trying hard to change. But gradually she lets her themselves carried away by it that is pure manipulation disguised as love. We also see more of the underlying causes of why Grey has this “urge” to inflict pain in others, and the film delves deeper into what really happened in his childhood. This is one of the most annoying with the whole story. When a 27-year-old man has obvious trauma from childhood, which has made him practically a sadist, why is there no one to do anything with it? He needs obvious help. But that is no one cares about.

Skuespillerprestasjonene on his side, there is nothing to cheer for, but it is caused by more characters ‘ lack of depth than anything else. Ana is both flat and boring, and the only times her voice actually replace the phone is when she howls every time the Grey lifts her up and carries her over the back, or when she moans (which she does relatively often). With that as a goal makes Dakota Johnson a good job. Jamie Dorian as Gray manages fine to keep it the same, strict expression throughout the entire movie.

Also the film’s most dramatic scene seems out of place. So that could promise the film and raised the voltage level a couple of notches, fall completely in fish and is over in three minutes as if nothing has happened, and it is difficult to understand why director James Foley has taken it at all. In the large and whole it is difficult to understand who this movie really is made for. For the story of the shy and lovely litteraturstudenten that would convert the hjerteløse and controlling mangemillionæren is not particularly interesting. Perhaps fall all of the pieces in place when the last movie comes, but it seems very unlikely to occur.
