Gunhild Stordalen get much support after she chose to set up the “Skavlan” without wig.

– It is very positive that Gunhild pops up on Skavlan without hair and without wig. It is brave to prove without hair. She makes disease journey for many women a little easier, says presenter P4, Lise Askvik (45).

As with Stordalen also chose Askvik to be open when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011. She says that she lost her hair the same year due to chemotherapy course and got it back about nine months later.

– Women without hair is so pretty! It sounded like crap when I was told that the hair would fall, it was not so sad when it happened. Then I had gotten used to the idea, says Askvik.

Openness has great significance

General Cancer Society Anne Lise Ryel believes that Gunhild Stordalen can give hope to many by being open and honest about his illness.

– It means a lot that a famous woman as Gunhild Stordalen come forward in this way, so open and visually. As with many cancer diagnosis, she has experienced getting the tough modest she has been through a very tough chemotherapy. When she poses on Skavlan without hair, and tells his story that way, she gives hope to many people.

Ryel can tell that many women find it less stressful to lose their hair than before.

– Before it was losing hair quite taboo. Now we have passed it, I think many feel worse that eyebrows and eyelashes disappears. Many feel that the moves are erased because you look different, she says.

Ryel therefore considers it very important that Stordalen proves without hair on television, thereby providing attention to a situation that may be difficult for many.
