Amalie (26) is this year’s debutante – Varden


 At half past two in the day receives 26-year-old Tarjei Vesaas’ debutantpris for 2014. The prize is 60,000 dollars, and handed out at writer annual meeting.

 Notodden author gets the award for his novel Europe.

 “The prize goes this year to a novelist who just exhibiting a young look at the world – a world in constant and uneasy change – and that simultaneously shows a significant sense of form and a clear consequence of the use of literary techniques,” writes the jury.

 Amalie itself is naturally very pleased for the price.

– There were three who were nominated for the award. The other two novels were good, so I was sure that one of them would win. I feel that it is a big pat on the shoulder and an inspiration to write more, says the freshly prize winner Varden.

She looks at the price that a very large acknowledgment in, but that it also rests a certain pressure when she should write her second novel.

 The prize money will come in handy for a writer who must take other jobs to get butter on slice of bread.

 - It means that I’m in a period can bet more holistically at writing.
