Skral Festival resurface with tough in the driver’s seat – Fædrelandsvennen

– This went very fast. I got the request from them shortly before I got to know how it would go with the Hove Festival, says Toffen Gunnufsen.

Tuesday, it became clear that Grimstad Festival Skral starts up again with him in the role of the booking manager and general manager. It happens to the summer of 14 and 15 July.

When the closure of Hove festival was known before the weekend, was Gunnufsen quick to tell that he was involved in a new festival in southern Norway. This weekend rumor mill almost boiled over, and Tuesday released thus the cat out of the bag.

Can book

– I can not begin to work with Skral before 1 January. Until then I am employed in Hove Republic, says tough.

For the same reason he will not ask in the image on the festival grounds at Groos Grimstad.

– But you can not wait to start book the band until January?

– Sure. The other guys have booked before, so that they manage just fine, says Gunnufsen.

Behind the new initiative is Mikal Vassbotten and Stian Tobiassen. Both are from Grimstad, and both were also involved in Skral Festival from its inception in 2003 until it closed in 2008 following year, the organizer Company Culture Collective AS bankrupt because of a tax claim from the Tax south.

Investor

Skral marketed itself as the loveliest festival, and during their first existence, they had names like Kent, 22 Pistepirkko, Sean Paul and Brett Anderson on stage.

– That’s right. We were very proud of some of our bookings to Skral. We can booking, while Toffen can it extremely well, pages Mikal Vassbotten.

in the newly formed Board Skral Festival AS he and Tobiassen been exiled from Kristiansand Harald Christian Sagevik as chairman and investor. Sagevik owns and operates Sugar snippet and Mono in Oslo.

– Our goal is to sell 6,000 tickets each of the two festival days, says Vassbotten. It corresponds to the size of the last Skral festival in 2008 drew about 13,000 spectators. The target audience for the festival are already said to be around 25 years old, and a commitment to camping.

– How much budget do you have?

– It will I did not say anything about, say Vassbotten.

Do not upset

Gunnufsen says that he absolutely is not tired of holding on to the festival, even after fifteen years in the Quart festival and eight years in Hove:

– It’s hilarious! This festival of death in southern Norway is exaggerated. When a festival lays down, comes another instead, he said.

– You have been dissatisfied with politicians both in Kristiansand and Arendal in terms of facilitating festival operation. Do you believe it now runs better in Grimstad?

– Hahaha. It’s really an easy question. All are right, and I think this is as optimal as it could be, say Gunnufsen.

Sent press release

– For those who thought that Sørland festival time was over, we reassure you all. Skral Festival in Grimstad is back. Just as cozy r as before. But a little older and pretty much wiser, writes Skral Festival in the press release that was sent out on Tuesday.

It says further:

– Exactly six years ago was Skral Festival in Grimstad was laid down, mainly due to study and work situation of the organizers and founders of the festival. That fall, the festival was awarded “festival” of Norwegian Rock Association. But like most extreme weather we believe in an afterlife. And now both the festival and the organizers back. With our team we have the owners behind including Mono and Sugar snippet in Oslo. In addition, we may shivering with pride to announce that the very Toffen Gunnufsen returns to his hometown to become a new booking manager and general manager of the festival.
