Skavlan nearest betrays his bad side: – A deadly combination clean … – Dagbladet.no

– Good evening, I’m Fredrik Skavlan. Every evening at this time, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, then I’ll talk to … eeehm, relevant people here in the studio four in Marienlyst, tells a little nervous, stokkete and uncertain Fredrik Skavlan to NRK studio camera.

in familiar style

the date is September 2, 1996. the TV picture is grainy, shoulder pads in suit jacket is thick and tonight’s first guests is none other than the political veterans kåre willoch and Reiulf Steen.

and it does not take many minutes before Norway gets a taste of interview style Skavlan has made his trademark. He appeals to the former Labor politician, and now deceased, Reiulf Steen, and ask: “But tell me, is not it turning … is not it turning into some positions associated with some pain?”

only high

It is exactly 20 years ago to the day Fredrik Skavlan introduced himself facing NRK2 viewers for the first time. Talk show he piloted Norway through called “Absolute” and was released on Skavlan 30th birthday in 1996.

– To lead a program that is still important and relevant to so many Norwegians after 20 years is a privilege . Especially considering the developments in linear television. Although I find myself from now in the age group of commercial channels are virtually worthless, but hopefully this does not apply if you yourself are on display, says Skavlan Dagbladet.

Tweed and corduroy

Before television debut working profile for several years as a journalist and illustrator, primarily in Dagbladet, but beyond a high school degree from Berg school in Oslo lacking, however, in more advanced academic achievement. He got only a “usable secondary examination.”

– Otherwise I have no education, if one disregards some former computer courses in the 80s, and a 24-hour career from the Armed Forces, according to the description Skavlan give of themselves to NRK secluded home system from 2004.

filling 50 years is not so difficult, seems Skavlan itself.

– I have somehow always been fifty, since I early 20s went about Dagbladet corridors exclusively clothed tweed and corduroy.

Extension speed

Skavlan was face to “Absolute” a three-digit number of times until May 1997. Then he led the same year “Summer Open” and the tV campaign “campaign to combat cancer ‘, before he set a steady course towards what is today considered Scandinavia’s biggest talk show.

gold patch winner “First and last” premiered on BBC1 autumn of 1998, and Jens Stoltenberg was Skavlan first guest. Talk show would prove to sweep all competition off the pitch, and earnest define NRK Friday evening as “row of gold.”

– Small champagne

the top of viewing the mountain was reached in 2005, when the program had 1.1 million viewers on average, and project Charlo Halvorsen was with from start to finish. He refuses, however, that the gang stuck his nose in the air and walked in the clouds.

– We introduced a self-imposed fear culture in the newsroom of the responsibility we sat with every Friday. There was little champagne and much ambition, for we were very conscious that it set a million people watched, says Halvorsen told Dagbladet.

Went on

The success was indisputable in almost a decade, but in spring 2007 it was still clear that “First and last” was in its final season. After a pause revived the concept in 2009 as we know it today, and at 20 years Fredrik Skavlan guestlist evolved considerably.

Kofi Annan, Bill Gates, Malala Yousafzai and Jay-Z are among some of the hundreds of heavy profiled faces that have shook hands and sat down in the chair on the texture rich carpet.

and Friday 9 september 2016 returning 50-year-old with a new season. But now thankfully TV picture crystal clear, suit jacket tailored script rehearsed, and Norwegians are asking themselves no longer who they see on the screen, but think carefully: Final weekend.

Friends and colleagues about Skavlan:

Marit Åslein, tV director and Frederiks stunt reporter “First and last”: – Frederick is one of the very cleverest, smartest and funniest I’ve worked with. We had some wonderful stitches together, once we figured out reportages mine. His mother was a little mad at me because I should have vegetarsuppe. That’s probably why he chose Mary.

Petter Wallace, external manager at NRK: Fredrik has been one of the main NRK lighthouses in recent years. He has created an ability to pull information out of their guests in a way I think many envy him.

Niklas Källner, presenter and former stunt reporter in “Skavlan”: – Fredrik has meant a lot to me. Both as a friend and colleague he is very inspirational. I remember a fixture where we fight against an MMA fighter. Fredrik was a little upset since we cut away the moment he had “the upper hand”. In imagination Fredrik gotten out that he gave him real resistance. Fredrik still believe I removed the clip.

Charlo Halvorsen, Project Manager of “First and last”: – Frederick is an ideal team leader and very good to include the entire newsroom. I remember we had to build on NRK reception because Robbie Williams would go unseen into the building. It was created a corridor of wooden boards and wardrobe with tropical theme.

jørgen skavlan, older brother: – I’ve been fond of my little brother for 50 years. He is one of the most harmonious, uncomplicated and balanced people I know. So he can cook, make children draw and he is married to Maria.

– He’s bad to criticism and he can fortunately not dance, but think even he can. It’s a deadly combination visually and rhythmically. When I think about this is almost the only thing he is good at. The only hopeless I feel by being “brother Fredrik” are the times I even being introduced as follows: “Take bountifully father Fredrik Skavlan.”
