- Jazz made Molde to a better city – Adresseavisen

Many of Molde’s 26 000 residents filled the streets and countless visitors were in place when the Jazz opened Monday. All hailed jazz festival, which has set Molde on the international map through 55 years.

Jazz Festival has a number of highlights to offer the next few days.

Minister Jan Tore Sanner (H), which accounted for the actual opening, rejoiced over both the event and that several municipalities in the region now are merging.

– When the opportunity arose to come here, I could not let it pass me by, said Sanner Adresseavisen after he had gone ahead in the traditional street parade. Unlike some of his predecessors from the peak in Norwegian politics, showed Sanner himself as a skilled and effortless dance.

Jazz team in Trondheim is well represented at this year’s festival.

I just had to dance

– I had decided beforehand that I should not dance, but I could not resist, said Local Government and Modernisation Minister, who swung with the one girl after the other while the orchestra Jazz Logen played traditional jazz tunes.

after he has experience much hardship while working with municipalities form, was Sanner downwind in Molde. The contrast was great from what he experienced in Nice. He came to Molde directly from holiday in the French city which was hit by a tragedy last Thursday.

Sanner went straight from the opening to meet with a number of local politicians to celebrate that several smaller municipalities in the area are merging the big three.

Visionary founders

Sanna party colleague, mayor Torgeir Dahl, was concerned with other topics. He drew comparisons to the visionary founders of the festival in 1961 and said that the festival has influenced at least two generations moldensere.

– The festival has allowed us to meet foreign cultures and with that which is different. It has done nothing with us. We have become more open and curious impulses, and it has inspired us. It shows in the way we accept refugees, and it has led to greater innovation in business said Dahl.

Valuable diversity

He stressed that diversity festival has brought with it, is a great value for Molde. The mayor failed to mention that the festival in many of his early years was met with great resistance in the city, just because the music, musicians and many visitors audience was foreign elements.

Also Jan Tore Sanner acclaimed festival, partly because it represents much of the modernization minister wants. They have constantly renewed and improved and is truly eye one of the most important musical and cultural arenas in Norway.

Snap Full park

Alexandra park was crammed full of spectators during the opening. Festival director Hans Olav Solli told about very good advance ticket sales. 12 of the many concerts this week was sold out on Monday morning.
