The American director Gary Marshall’s death, 81 years old. It announces a number of foreign media, including Deadline and The Telegraph.
Marshall was one of the great figures of comedy series on American television, and worked as a writer and director from the start of 1960 to well into the 1980s s.
He worked among others with the television series “Happy Days,” “The Odd Couple” and “The Dick Van Dyke Show.”
He also directed all 18 films, including “Pretty Woman” with Richard Gere and Julia Roberts in the lead roles, and “Runaway Bride.”
Marshall died in a hospital in Los Angeles Tuesday as a result of pneumonia after having previously been affected by stroke.
