TV Review: Festive look behind the mask – VG

“Every time we meet” for comedians? Bombastic lydhjelp to tears in the sofa and prostrate group masturbation between colleagues?

I admit I was a bit skeptical to “Clown to the coffee.”

Are comedians who live by self-irony and revealing self-importance in others sitting with wineglass around the table and talk about the “subject” and “art”, high on himself?

Participant Linn Skåber seems to have thought some of the same mind, and this reviewer soothed

When Steinjo in the first episode is chopped for panegyric in tribute of Espen Eckbo talent, “arrest” Skåber him by humming “Every time we meet.” “Clown of coffee” is an informal but interesting look behind the mask.

The concept is as follows: Six Norwegian comedians (with very good dispersion generation) together. Each of them have their day where they choose a common activity / challenge to be considered. The loser in this joint competition is “clown coffee” and must entertain with some episode’s protagonist chooses.

Comedians outside your comfort zone, that is. It’s the most fun, but also offers tensions eventually. It is actually tricky for entertainers who tend to be the center with full control even having to be funny at someone else’s instructions and command. And it could be exciting TV!

The first episodes protagonist is Espen Eckbo. He is notoriously “uprivat” and also forced to share a bit of themselves, and see – and be ashamed of – clips from earlier in his career. Fun for both us and the participants. We also get a great bonus in the first episode with Michael Jackson theme. Superfan Espen Eckbo is in fact 14 years again – in the face of Omer Bhatti. Absolutely priceless.

“Clown of coffee” is very promising and it will be interesting to see if the quintet is left unable to follow up.
