DN-journalist on Twitter harassment: – I would wholeheartedly regret – VG

Mina Ghabel Lunde who was revealed as a contributor to a Twitter account that harassed journalists and DN managers regret that it has been kicked down.

There is an interview in the Daily news 18 Wednesday that Ghabel Lunde talks about news that cracked Wednesday morning in Medier24. Lunde, who since 2013 has been employed in Dagens Næringsliv, has contributed to an anonymous Twitter account, @fruhjorth, which has harassed interviewees, colleagues and bosses in DN.

Although she claims that she has not written negatively about colleagues and DN management account, but she takes responsibility for not having stopped certain tweets – especially messages where other journalists and individuals have been harassed.

– Awful sorry

Among those who got to know the wrath of @fruhjorth was a Aftenposten journalist who was called both ” klatremus “and” attention whore “.

– I think it terrible pity. I would wholeheartedly regret that it has been kicked down. I personally have not written any of it, but I’m here to regret that I did not stop there. For there could I have done, says Lunde presenter Fredrik Solvang.

She gets comments of Solvang that she was a coward who came with their comments anonymously. She has criticized VG commentator Anders Giæver. How she answers it:

– I did not think the kind of comments are worth taking the consequences of itself. My role has been to point out and talk about things, criticism and ridicule spoken about the press in between, but that audience out there do not get to hear.

Neither editor in chief of Dagens Næringsliv, Amund Djuve or Lunde have commented whether the incident will affect her position in the newspaper. On Wednesday evening, she reveals, however, that she has applied for a severance package.

– I was, like everyone else, offered a severance package some time ago, and I applied for the severance package long before all this happened, she said.

About the severance package granted pensions are still unknown. Djuve writes in a text message to VG Wednesday night that the deadline for final packets go out Sunday.

“Do not comment now who have applied or not,” writes him.

Asked about whether this case and previously contentious issues among DN journalists in recent years, responding Djuve follows:

“I think it important for readers’ trust is the newspaper’s journalism. We have some of the best journalists, which among other things led to the DN is one of the most award-winning editorial 2000s. We are not flawless, but try to learn from our mistakes – and has in recent years getting common PFU. “

He added:

” That an employee in DN contributes to an anonymous account on Twitter that attack the newspaper’s sources, competitors or employees, is selvsalgt not suitable to build confidence. “

Can affect

One of the country’s leading labor lawyers and partner in the law firm Steenstrup Stordrange, Henning M. Heitmann, told VG that such an incident may involve labor law konvekvenser for Lunde.

– Termination of employment is nearby, based on a journalist’s behavior in this way undermines the trust of the media house she is employed and has fiduciary duty to, and it does not seem to be a proper notification of blameworthy circumstances that give her protection against such measures by the employer .

– if she got a severance package before the employer was aware of the information about the journalist’s role is tempting to regard this as flawed assumptions of agreement, and hence that the agreement lapses.

betrays not others

Lunde claims that she is one of at least six contributors to your Twitter account and has not wanted to say who the others are. There she wants not to do Wednesday night.

– I know who the other five are, but would not say who they are. I have gone many rounds with myself on this today. The reason to say their name is that it makes things easier for both to my bosses, and to pulverize what this is. But the blow to their reputation it gives me may not be believed that I stand alone, a scratch on the car I’d rather take than to enter the other.

She said however that she has asked the others stand forward as contributors. Per Wednesday night no one has yet come forward.
