Music legend Prince died of an overdose opioids, according to a police source who has seen the test results. The entire 19,000 people suffered the same fate in the US in 2014.
Prince was found dead at his home outside Minneapolis in April, 57 years old. There are news agency AP that has talked to an unnamed police officer with close knowledge of the investigation.
There are test results confirming that an overdose is the cause of death, according to the source. Also newspaper The Star Tribune in Princes hometown referring Thursday to an anonymous source as saying 57-year-old died of an overdose painkillers.
Opioids is a term for drugs with morphine-like effects, including opiates such as morphine, codeine and heroin.
