This is not the first time a missedronning get different attention than what one might expect in such a competition.
Arianna Quan was historic as she is the first american with chinese roots who was crowned Miss Michigan.
While missedronninger usually hailed for its appearance, is the story a second for Quan. She was hetset after the victory.

Very many people took contact with me, both in an extremely negative way and in an extremely positive way. It has been a very polarized feedback, she said People.
Quan moved to Detroit from Beijing when she was six years old, and became an american citizen eight years later. It was especially her chinese background which attracted attention and were the subject of ufine credentials.
