Chris Evans ends as “Top Gear” -sjef – NRK

Evans embarked news on his own Twitter account on Monday 4 July 2016.

The sixth and final episode in this year’s “Top Gear” -series was broadcast on BBC Sunday 3 July 2016 and only seen by 1.9 million viewers.

According to the Guardian, this is lower than any episode in all the years that Jeremy Clarkson made program. A mitigating circumstance is, however rekordbra summer weather and the football game between France and Iceland the same day.

The previous presenter trio – Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond – had an average of 5.8 million viewers. They drifted TV series for thirteen years.

In a press release from the BBC states that Evans now believes the best he can do is to step aside. He argues nonetheless that he has never worked with such a dedicated team of people that he has made over the last twelve months.

BBC reports that the total viewing figures for new” Top Gear “including streaming, is 30 million in the UK alone and that the rights have been sold to 130 territories.

Chris Evans is currently also in the spotlight alleging sexovergrep and will be questioned about this shortly. Evans commented on the accusations from a previous job colleague as “ridiculous” and a witch hunt.

Almost daily critical comments and articles in the British press about Evans’ efforts in “Top Gear” should also have been decisive. Evans originally had a three-year contract. Now sources say the BBC told the Guardian that there can be talk of a new season in 2017 with Matt LeBlanc as frontman. Evans and LeBlanc allegedly had relationship problems.

In Norway, NRK demonstrated the season 23 of “Top Gear”, due to that the BBC has chosen to send the episodes on their new Nordic channel, BBC Brit.
