(Dagbladet): For 79 years ago, a girl named Sonja Haraldsen born in Oslo.
That girl from Vindern would one day marry the then Crown Prince, Harald V, was enough not to mind mother and father Haraldsen when their daughter was born.
this year it is 25 years since she and Harald Norway was queen and king. Besides dedicating much of his life to art, is our Queen also praised as a fashion icon.
On the occasion of her birthday, we’ve looked at some of her biggest fashion feats.
Could revue

on 23 June this year it was 25 years ago, the royal couple was blessed. During the consecration in the cathedral bar Queen Sonja a very special dress.
During the consecration was the king according to Aftenposten 24th June 1993 wearing a dark parade uniform of the Army with saber stuck in his belt. The queen wore a silkesatinkjole drawn by Erik Mortensen, chief designer at Balmain. He has also designed several dresses for the Queen.
The yellow dress she wore at the wedding of Swedish Prince Carl Philip and Sofia Hellquist was one of Mortensen’s design.
Balmain is today one of the hottest luxury brands, and is favorite with among others Kardashian sisters.
Influenced Mette-Marit
in conjunction with the Queen’s 75th birthday in 2012 talked Dagbladet with fashion expert Hilde Marstrander.
fashion expert said that the queen has had a great influence on Mette-Marit’s clothing style.
– I often find that one can see similarities in their choice of style, accessories and clothing. It is sober and accurate – neither more nor less, she says to Dagbladet.
She boasted of Queen’s talent for recycling, something she believed also has rubbed off on the Crown Princess.
– Reuse is a great signal of symbol carriers that otherwise may occur due to overuse. Sonja’s thoughts on recycling and charity seem to have dropped further on Mette-Marit, which of course is positive, she says.

• Born as Sonja Haraldsen 4 July 1937 in Oslo.
• Married Crown Prince Harald in the Oslo Cathedral on 29 August 1968.
• Have been queen in Norway since 17 January 1991. When she ascended the throne she became Norway’s first queen on 53 years.
• Is preoccupied with contemporary art, and in 2001 and 2002 was her private art collection on display at the Henie Onstad Art Centre.
• In 2011 established the Queen H. M. Queen Sonja scholarship.
• The queen is both an active photographer, besides that she is a trained ski instructor.
