We need to support the dramas

Hagen believes that this also requires something of us audience members.

We as a population need to decide that we want to support the Norwegian film and TV. We are helping to get it made through to pay taxes, and then we need to get a good experience back, he believes.

the NRK has in recent years been behind series such as “the Battle for heavy water”, “Mammon” and “Lillyhammer”. Garden believes that the channel has taken a brave and original choice.

As we begin to “safe”, when we think we’ve found the recipe, it is no longer innovative. We must continue to stretch the elastic, finding original concepts and develop them in a new way. For example, look at “Shame”. The very idea … 20 minute episodes about young people … it doesn’t sound so original, but fortunately bet they have, and now they get rewarded for it, ” he says.

Original themes

Nordin points out that the Norwegian drama dare to take up controversial topics that create debate.

“Nobel” as in the Norwegian dobbeltrolle in krigsspørsmålet, where we on the one hand, participating in the war and on the other side looks at us as a fredsnasjon. In “die walküre” they take up new themes that stands out from many other series. This is not a classic series about the hunt for a serial killer.

the Topics are exciting and relevant. Among other things, discussed it what a welfare state consists of. It is an exciting topic that I have not seen anywhere else in Scandinavia, ” he says.
