– Critics misunderstand

The series of individual received criticism for fomenting the fear of the Russians, but Jo Nesbø believes critics have misunderstood the point of the series if they get caught in this.

– The idea was to use fiction to consider what size democracy and independence is worth on a individual level, not to hang out EU and Russia as such. The point is not who the occupier is, but how our generation had acted, we who have not grown up with war, but have often asked ourselves about what we had done in our ancestors’ place, said Nesbø NRK last weekend.
