Mykle died on Tuesday after a short illness, age of 78, according to Adresseavisen.
Mykle, who has also worked as a teacher, is most known children’s TV characters POMPEL OG PILT. The series of five episodes, he created together with Bjørg Mykle and Ebbe Ording in 1969. The series went to reprise several times and got early cult status.

Mykle have also been artistic director at Oslo Nye Teater Puppet Theatre, and even ran Puppet workshop.
Arne Bust Mykle was the son of writer Agnar Mykle.
