(Dagbladet): Earlier this autumn, it became clear that the former news director of NRK, Per Arne Kalbakk, was deposed and enters new job in NRK – a newly created position as ethics editor.
NRK has looked for his successor since then, and 12 people have applied for the prestigious post of chief of Norway’s largest news department, the list of applicants.
Among the applicants are current reportage editor at NRK Alexandra Beverfjord and Kyrre Nakkim, chief of debate and magazine department in the government channel.
Three of the 12 applicants are exempt public.
“Agreed to go”
Among the applicants who are not anonymous, only Beverfjord, Nakkim and Frode Nielsen Børfjord who has extensive experience in the media industry.
Sources in NRK told Dagbladet that news Kalbakken departure came very surprising for journalists in the news department.
– I have sat as director for seven years, first as a program director and then as news director. Now think Thor Gjermund that it may be time for a change. When he found it, then there’s not much for me to say about it, said Kalbakk Dagbladet.
– Have you gone voluntarily?
– Yes, we have agreed that, replied the outgoing news director at the time.
