(Page2): 17 year old Julie Stokke must withdraw from Idol. It happens on the advice of a physician. Stokke has been diagnosed with a condition on the vocal cords that can cause permanent damage with such an extensive use of voice as an Idol participation entails, writes TV2 in a statement.

– I find it incredibly sad that Julie must leave Idol. Yet, I am very aware of how serious the damage to the vocal cords her is, and how important it is for her future career that she grabs in this now, before it’s too late. I had otherwise done exactly the same thing myself. I know that Julie is an artist material of the highest class. she has one of the finest voices I’ve heard, and I do not doubt for a second that she comes ten times stronger back.
TV 2 say they are upset Julie must leave the competition, but that it would not be responsible to let her continue with the advice came from the medical profession.
