Rare Disease
Gunhild Stordalen is wearing jeans and shirt during the interview, and even though she carries a painful illness, her face glows. Stordalen have lost all the hair on his head as a result of the strong chemotherapy.
The disease makes the skin becomes thick and stiff, and movement restricted. The attacker also bodies such as the digestive tract, lungs, heart and kidneys. In the most serious cases, life expectancy is only a couple of years for those affected.
The disease is very rare. In the US approximately 70 male cases and 270 female cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
