Poet world – Aftenposten

Tomas Tranströmer is dead, 83 years old. He was a poet of world, reinterpreted to more than 60 languages. His position in the Nordic region is unique and the entire Nordic Nordic literary circles had waited long for him to get the Nobel Prize in literature. It came at last in 2011.

Fabulous

Tomas Tranströmer has a particularly picky production. He debuted 23 years old with a fabulous and marvelous collection of poems which differed clearly from the sorrowful and alienated postwar poetry that had dominated in Scandinavia. 17 poet is innovative nature poetry, where the poet gives meaning to nature seemingly meaningless gestures: Berget gets glance, hills mooing and water lily paddle.

Haiku

The debut is among my favorites, along with what has been called his “second debut” nemlige The Sorrow Gondola from 1996. It had then been quietly from the poet in six years, after he was hit by a stroke.

The Sorrow Gondola he writes haiku for the first time, a form he continues in his hitherto last book, The big gåtan . There is a small collection, but the glass clear, simple and beautiful. Here are poems that can be cut in stone:

Begravningarna comes Tatara och Tatar

as vägskyltarna

när one Narmer himself a city

The poem is characteristic of Tranströmer’s ability to make the reader dizzy using normal everyday pictures. It is also characteristic of the ambiguous attitude of death that characterizes the poet: Despite an increasing number of funerals is to “Narmer himself a city” associated with expectations.

Although it to arrive at death city can be a homecoming. “Greater och långsam wind / sea från library. / Här get rush vila “writes Tranströmer in one of the collection’s last poems.

Psychologist

Until the battle in 1990 worked as a psychologist Tranströmer, periodically in prison and among young criminals. I’ve been looking for traces of these experiences in his poetry, but this is least of all a poet who cultivates a social realistic picture of people and society. In the 70s he writes frequently out of everyday situations and texts get a more narrative tone.

Always he gives yet their characters a deeper glow. It can hardly be called religiosity, but Tranströmer has a mysterious and magnificent sight of man. In a famous poem from the collection För levande och Doda (1989) states that an angel embraces poet and whispers the following message:

“Shame inte för att you passionate människa was proud!

Inside thee achieve sig valv behind valv oändligt

You will never FÄRDIG, och är it as the shell. “

In Norway

In Norway Tranströmer already reinterpreted and widely read among poetry lovers. Bokhylla.no provides easy access to the fine Norwegian re-writing of Jan Erik Vold. He has also published several essays about authorship.

Because of the physical limitations were Tranströmer recent years only able to write short poems. Perhaps it was also why Nobel Laureate last books were brimming with poetic energy.
