(Dagbladet): Police in Karlstad has received 27 reviews of sexual abuse during a festival in the Swedish city at the weekend.
the perpetrators are from 15 to 35 years, and it is primarily young girls in their teens who are the formærmede party, police in Karlstad Dagbladet.
– There is greater tension in the age of the perpetrators than it is in the age of the victims. The oldest alleged offender is about 35 years, while the youngest is about 15 years. The victims are primarily young girls, from 15 years upwards, says Urban Bengtsson Karlstad police.
27 reviews
Among the suspects are at least two Swedish nationals. There will also be several unaccompanied asylum seekers among the perpetrators.
– These are serious offenses. We have 27 reviews we are investigating right now, and there are currently seven suspected perpetrators involved, says Bengtsson
It was during the free festival Putte i Parken in Karlstad that the abuse allegedly occurred. Putte i Parken is a festival series held in four Swedish cities during the summer.
– The suspects have not yet status as charged, but is suspected with good reason, as it’s called, said Bengtsson.
the news comes just days after a woman was raped in front of the stage at a Zara Larsson concert.
No rapes
Bengtsson says perpetrators have exploited people sea to paw at young girls, who should have been felt up within clothes, breasts and buttocks, and tried kissed against their will.
– On festival there are many people, and people are closely untill another. It’s a sea of people and the perpetrators have exploited care of that. They have operated in groups and stood close to the girls without people around have reacted, says Bengtsson.
He adds that the “thank goodness” is not suggesting rapes during the festival.
None of the girls have been physically injured, police said.
– the girls is depressed and upset that they can not go to a festival without being molested. Of course it takes it toll psychologically, says Bengtsson.
Tiet of abuse
Earlier this year it was announced that Swedish police last two years has kept quiet about kid gangs assaulted girls during a youth festival in Stockholm.
– Our women and girls should be able to go at festival and be in the public room without risking being molested. For us in Karlstad, this is a new phenomenon, it is not a problem we had to address previously, claiming Bengtsson.
In recent days there have been several reported rapes during festivals in Sweden. Five rapes were reported during Bråvallafestivalen and one rape under Säljerydsfestivalen in Sweden.
