The arrest came after police in several hours had tried to persuade Brown to get out of the house in Los Angeles.

police surrounded the house after a woman reported that 27-year-old had aimed a gun at her. Brown demanded a warrant from police before he would let them in. Meanwhile he took to social media to assert his innocence and accused the police of harassment.

the rapper has repeatedly been at odds with the law. He received a suspended sentence, 180 hours of community service and was sentenced to five years probation after he attacked his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
Brown pleaded guilty to an attack on a man in Washington in 2014, and he is suspected to have turned down a woman in Las Vegas earlier this year.
