Wrote completely new ending for Lion woman – Aftenposten

Sun had great movie Lion Woman , with a production budget of 80 million, the world premiere of The Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund .

With the Swedish big star Rolf Lassgård top of the poster is the Norwegian film already sold to 40 countries. Producer John M. Jacobsen expects that there will be many more, and hope especially on sales to the United States.

3rd-party-bio

– it has been particularly keen interest in the film in Germany, where almost half of the total budget our financed, says Jacobsen.

When Lion woman came out in 2006 it became a giant sales success for Erik Fosnes Hansen and Cappelen, but all those who have read the book can now expect a completely different experience at the cinema. The author reveals namely that he agreed to make a brand new ending to storytelling.

– The book ends on a somewhat dark way, and I realized pretty quickly that we needed a slightly different output when we were making films of this. The story is about the love between a father and a daughter, and we had to find an ending that better bar the message says Fosnes Hansen.

Director Idsøe has been close friends with the writer for over 20 years, and says that she ca. 16 years ago was called by an elated Fosnes Hansen could tell that he was going to write a book about a woman with the rare hårvekstsykdommen hypertrichosis.

– The call came the day after he had got the idea, and he had been awake all night while he searched the web to find material for the story. But it was not until many years later we agreed that we should cooperate and make a film about this, she laughs.

She is particularly pleased to have received the Swedish fox Lassgård with the cast.

memorized to convince Lassgård

– I memorized hard on conviction arguments when I would meet him to get him on the project. Luckily he said yes, she said.

The trio Aurora Lindseth-Loop (9), Mathilde Hummervoll Storm (16) and Ida Ursin-Holm (25) plays the protagonist Eva Arctander since she is a child until she becomes an adult .

throughout the action, they go with facial and body masks covering them with thick, reddish hair. The masks are designed by British Oscar-nominated makeup artist Conor O’Sullivan.

  • We have been using one of the very best in the industry to specialize design meshes, says producer Jacobsen.

O’Sullivan has previously made mask of the Joker in Batman movie the Dark Knight and he has been involved in the production of Game of Thrones.

for the three young girls who play Lion woman, is their role debut as an actor in a play film, except that Mathilde previously dubbed voices in animation movies like Barbie and Happy Feet 2.

– it’s been incredibly great to be part of this recording, and with such a talented actor like Rolf Lassgård, says Mathilde Hummervoll Storm.

Moves from the premiere of the theater trying to Haugesund

Ida is the only one of them with professional background as an actor, with education as an actor from the Theatre Nord-Trøndelag University College.

25-year-old goes straight from Sunday’s world premiere at the Norwegian Film Festival, to try Monday morning at the anniversary show from Haugesund with love at Haugesund Theatre, which premieres in early September.

Rolf Lassgård came straight from recording of the Swedish giant success A man named Ove when he took on the Lion woman , which was filmed partly in Bochum in Germany, in Lillehammer and the Norwegian folk Museum in Oslo. He spent a good deal of time with the director to shape stationmaster Arctander. At the beginning of the film he loses his young wife in childbirth. Station Master has, like much of the local community, obvious trouble accepting her daughter who was born with the rare hårsykdommen.

Was touched by the story

– When I read the script I was immediately intrigued by a poignant and beautiful story about being different, and being accepted by others in society. Above all, it is also about the relationship between a father and a daughter. I would rather not play a transversely through spiteful man. In conversations with Vibeke we spent some time addressing this somewhat difficult character. How can you make a man locks in their feelings, without just being sad to watch, explains Lassgård.

A universal destiny history

– The film has already been sold to 40 countries . Which international potential think you Lion Woman have?

– This is a film that can make it very well in many parts of the world. The film is not only a museal preparation of a story that happened a hundred years ago, but the history of relationships between people and a universal destiny story that applies wherever you go on the globe. Parents everywhere might get kids who are different, the thoughts they think? It is absolutely clear parallels to things that happen in our time, match the Swede. Lion Woman gets regular theatrical release in Norway on Friday.
