HAUGESUND (VG) “Wave” won the Best Norwegian film. Jakob Oftebro was deeply touched by seeing his little brother Jonas receive price.
Friday night was the Norwegian film industry celebrated the annual Amanda awards in Haugesund. The greatest prize, Best Norwegian cinema was “wave.” None other than Hollywood star Michael Fassbender announces winner, and a large crew of the film took courage.
– So we got a price we also, very nice! Thanks to the jury that found us worthy. It’s fun to see how far it is possible to make a genre film in Norway.
Movie Review: “The wave”
Director Roar Uthaug, now make films in Hollywood, just got time to thank the actors and the 800,000 who bought tickets to the movie before TV2 music rounded him off.
Lillebror Oftebro, Jonas, plays a starring role in the film. He met the press together with brother and Amanda host James backstage, which boasted big little brother.
– It made the whole evening for me, Jacob said.
– For me to see my brother who I have grown up with and I love to be so clever and play a completely different role than the one he himself is touching. All we have to go to school, but Jonas is self taught him, it’s so annoying!

Jonas have not only actor plans this fall he revealed to VG.
– Now I’m in the “borning 2″ coming soon, and so I have started to study psychology. So we’ll see how it is.
– Not an actor 100 percent then?
– Not the way it looks now, but we’ll see!
Roar Uthaug has got Hollywood assignment for “wave” and is now directing the new “Lara Croft” movie. He says “wave” has been important that he has now taken another step forward.
– There have been a door opener.
– What do they say about the film in Hollywood?
– I think they like that there is a distinct genre film, but it has a heart and characters that you care about. It goes perhaps a little closer to the characters than what we are used to in the genre.
– Is it supposed to hope for something similar in “Lara Croft”?
– Yes, I think it is, says Uthaug who hope he manages to put his own stamp on a major Hollywood franchise movie.
From refugee to Amanda winner
Amanda winner for best supporting actor has a very special history in luggage. From he was six until he was seventeen lived Mukut in a refugee camp in Malawi. Now he lives in Norway and working as an engineer, in addition to his job as an actor which also secured him a Amanda statuette tonight.
– I had not been here if it was not for my family or friends. I have been a refugee, today I stand with this, said Mukut from the stage while picking director Rune Denstad Langlo sat in the hall.

– One thing I’ve learned is not given up. Had my family or I have given up I would not be here, said Mukata.
– To me it means everything. This award is for all refugees there who are trying everything they can to get a better life. This is for them, to show that anything is possible.
Won his second Amanda
Anders Baasmo Christiansen won his second Amanda after he took home one of the debut Buddy in 2004. he held a long speech on the inhalation and exhalation to great applause in the hall.
– Some nominations are one prouder of than others. Thanks Rune for letting us make this movie. You will play a racist, yes it is acting, but it’s bad! I think we should be better at teamwork! When Gustav “Ludvigsen” Lorentzen died suddenly in 2010, many plans tossed about on. Originally, Øystein Dolmen and Gustav Lorentzen portray Knutsen and Ludvigsen themselves, but in cooperation with Lorentzen survivors was agreed to make the animation of the story instead.
