Crown Princess arrived Kragerø at 11:30 Wednesday and had from the start a busy schedule.
Much of the visit was devoted to art and they started the day with a tour by Kragerø art school.
Here they saw students and teachers working with modeling, 3D work and drawing.
on the way up to school passed and princess bronze statue and memory plaque of Edvard Munch on site ‘Peel’ where he painted several of aula works in Oslo.
Important kragerø women
Then we went on to Jens Lauerssøns space. Mayor Jone Blikra told about the female suffrage campaigner Fernanda Nissen as they passed his childhood home her.
In front hall they saw the stone from Aleppo in Syria, which is brought here in memory of missionary orphanage manager Bodil Biørn from Kragerø, who worked there and in Armenia for almost 100 years ago.
on reaching the Jens Lauerssøns space was the flower ceremony and speeches, including by Crown Princess Mette-Marit. The royal got here presented historical work about Kragerø.
the entertainment was kids in Kragerø. First up was a baroque quintet from Kragerø arts who performed an excerpt of Byjubileumskonserten. Then played Marthe Sofie Hegdahl whistle.
Last musical performances were by Silje Uberg who both played and sang alone for honorable guests and all the others who were present down to the harbor basin. 6th graders from kragerø schools performed an excerpt of “Historical Walking” with the theme Kragerø 350 years.
In fast Jomfruland
Then left and princess mainland with “Pearl” and headed towards Jomfruland. There, the boat to the Tower Wharf and further the trip went against Øytangen, via Fyrmesterhagen, The manor, open-air church and oak forest.
Just before the clock 15 arrived pair pebble beach, which is part of Scandinavia’s first geopark which is a scheduled part of Jomfruland National Park.
Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon returned then to Kragerø with rescue boats, and last farewell with Kragerø were taken around the clock 15.30 Jens Lauerssøns space.
