The actor Anders Baasmo Christiansen believes that the time is ripe to consider moving the Norwegian Amanda awards to January.
But the idea is facing stiff resistance at Amanda’s “father” and Amanda Committee, Gunnar Johan Løvvik.
This year’s Amanda nominee!
Baasmo Christiansen is even nominated this year for best supporting actress in ” Captain Sabertooth and treasure in Lama Rama. ” And expresses its great pleasure for just that.
– It’s super nice! Amanda prices are what I grew up with and always what one strives for the Norwegian film. So I would not mix the cards in any way! Nevertheless, I think it is important to think again now, especially because Kanon prices of many in the industry gradually gets larger and larger reputation.
Gun Prizes are awarded each year under Kosmorama, Film Festival in Trondheim. There it is, like the Oscars, movie people themselves who vote until winners. Unlike Amanda prices, which are assessed by a jury composed with backgrounds from different cultural fields.
– Should Amanda retain its value as Norway’s most important film prize, I think it’s time to reassess the situation. Does one ceremony to January, the preceding calendar year be the refinement of current movies. As it is now, I am afraid that it is difficult for the general public to keep track of what you really vote for, say Baasmo Christiansen continues:
– And Many of the films will easily feel old. Moreover, I think we can discuss who should sit on the jury. I am even weak for the idea that the country’s film critics should get a lot stronger, a bit like the Golden Globes, says Baasmo Christiansen. which envisages their very own “golden number” of Norwegian awards:
– Then we could get three really magnificent television weekends: Sports Gala, Spellemannprisen and Amanda in a row. This would be a much clearer marking. And an event that will hopefully be able to attract a lot of resources and therefore be grand enough, says Anders Baasmo Christiansen.
But Gunnar Johan Løvvik is thus totally disagree. He will not change:
– No, and the main reason is that Amanda works as well as it does, not least by changes we made no later than last year. Amanda is closely interwoven with the Norwegian Film Festival in Haugesund, and we have succeeded in defining our own ‘film year’, which I think confuses some. And this we have done for 30 years; year Amanda is an anniversary.
– You are not only afraid of tapping the festival and Haugesund for prices?
– No. But the festival is very important for Amanda. And Amanda is important for the festival. The festival has always taken a significant responsibility for Amanda, both organisationally and financially. The festival is the premier meeting place for the entire Norwegian film industry. And it is also adjacent to the festival that the foremost Norwegian film prices belong, believes Gunnar Johan Løvvik, which this year in addition to being head of the Amanda Committee, this year working in a freer advisory role in relation to the film festival, having been festival director Amanda whole “life”.
