One Direction concert song for song – VG

British pop hero played at Ullevaal Stadium on Friday night. VG Morten Ståle Nilsen Reviewed concert song for song!

One Direction are back in Oslo, after two-year break from the Norwegian audience. Last time played youngsters at Telenor Arena, but this time took the British tour to Ullevaal Stadium. Besides, there were only four members on stage:

Fifth Man Zayn Malik left the band in March.

Earlier this week the band was in place in Denmark, where the reviewers simply do not let themselves be inspired by the concert. VG Morten Ståle Nilsen was not very impressed: Here you can check out the dice he rolled for each song! Which dice he gave the concert in its entirety, you can read here.

Although the reviewer would not be persuaded by One Direction, had fans a fantastic night at the Ullevaal Stadium. Read details and see pictures of VG One Direction studio!

“Clouds”

The audience, which has advocated strongly even for music videos that have been shown on the big screens after McBusted gave itself (shouts of joy was clearly more subdued when advertising clips for Jan Thomas Hair Studio flickered), the predictable and fun bananas as Heroes is revealed. The group is 23 minutes late – they can not just keep an appointment, as decent people? 20.53 is late concert start for a band that appeals to children and adolescents. But OK. It smatrer in fireworks, and the quartet is immediately outside and “work” their respective corners of the stage rigged. Dream prince himself – Harry Styles – is the my edge (smelt, lizm). A stadium monster with “here we go again” -refreng, drowning in the happy hysteria.

“Steal My Girl”

One of the band’s strongest card. Reminds something sooo about AOR / MOR-rock of the early eighties, specifically Journeys “Faithfully.” That piano riff there is as 1983 as Ronald Reagan. The sound is frail, but fortunately somewhat lower than the horrific roar that was McBusted. The group is very discrete on stage, consistently on each its own little wing – even on the long road out to scenetungens dump.

“Little Black Dress”

No one should accuse 1D to be sophisticated harmony singers. Not solo singers either. It is impossible to know who it is that at any given time singing what. “Little Black Dress”, which resembles a Kiss song from 1976, the kjasete and chaotic. But energetic. They are out and “rocker” those who stand at the back of the stadium, with the “affordable” tickets.

“Where Do Broken Hearts Go”

A bird flying horrified over the stadium as fireworks conclude this Osete half ballad. Which in turn will slomsete. They are still at the tip, to give “the cheap seats” value. Moving staccato and ugrasiøst. No dancers, these guys provided.

“Midnight Memories”

Practically a plagiarism of Def Leppard “Pour Some Sugar on Me”, and thus built for occasions like this. The little puppy fat-like Liam Payne would welcome. When he initiates conversations with the other, it is impossible to understand what is said. But he reveals at least that today is “the international kissing day”, which brings us to …

“Kiss You”

One of the closest they otherwise quite “rock” pregna 1D comes Purt, hurried boybanderi. They move back to the main stage, along a strip equipped with steel structures that make it look like a futuristic health club. Another song that drowns in a unfocused performance. This applies to both the band and prominent figures.

“Stockholm Syndrome”

Oj. Here it sure is possible to secrete soloist parties. Styles, who initiates, come best from it. Louis Tomlinson just mumbling. The song is not the world. One dollar disco beat and a so-so chorus makes no summer. “It is not as cold as I had anticipated,” says Payne, and fortunately right there. It is not just a summer, but which may be similar.

“Ready To Run”

Niall Horan “axles” an acoustic guitar for this Mumford & amp; Sons-like folk rocker. Sang harmonies in the chorus is obviously “canned” as it was called in the old days. Group members continue to struggle with a violent fear of physical contact, they are constantly moving away from each other, which makes it difficult to fixate on something or someone. Quite pleasant, the Scout way.

“Strong”

Ultra Anonymous song, providing an opportunity to take in scene construction. It looks like something Rolling Stones could have dragged away the eighties. Characterized by some vaguely Japanese-inspired doodles – a pizza slice, no toilet paper, a cheese (?). Not hard to say what this means: It means nothing.

“Better Than Words”

Have a guitar riff that is swiped from a John “Cougar” Mellencamp song I do not remember the title on the go (mostly because I do not have further sense of John “Cougar” Mellencamp). But it was well in “Scarecrow,” I think. Horan brag “this incredible place” and points beyond an ordinary football stadium. Apropos. It has been claimed, in competing media outlets, there are 30,000 people here tonight. It can not possibly vote. If the capacity is 31,000, as has been stated, we can perhaps predict 23-25 000? There is certainly plenty of room in the two largest fields down in front of the stage (the very front, with the stiffest ticket prices).

“Do not Forget Where You Belong”

Should say 1D fixes the uptempo party songs better than ballads. This transforms albeit Ullevål into a sea of glowing cell phones – a striking scene, actually. But the melody is gore, and Horan longstanding introduction has once again demonstrated that One Direction advantageously have had a better dramaturgy on her show. They appear overrasende small “professional”. It’s part of the charm with them, natch. But there can be too much mess, too.

“Little Things”

Ed Sheeran song, and a classic example of his drooling føleriske, råpopulistiske ” I love you just as you are ‘style. The group gathers for a moment, in a stairway leading down to the stage tongue. Sing separately, and once again it is the squeaky Tomlinson coming out worst of it. The always smiling Horan exhibit certain qualities – he can certainly have a future as a troubadour in British nurseries. Payne and Styles are Charismatics.

“Night Changes”

More troubadour business masse. This has a romantic, catchy chorus. There they stay in the same radius on stage gives the concert a much needed focus. The band behind them playing so all pop star backing band plays: contrived efficiently and anonymously. Doing what they need and nothing else.

“18″

More Sheeran. Practically a remix of his own “The A Team”. Pop music is decent and green way – good to reuse.

“Alive “

We are in the short song titles time, but now it at least played pop music again. “Alive” has the classic “cheerleader” -beat and an OK chorus. And – yikes – a guitar solo. The glaring stage lights turned on, and the scene at the tip “levitating”. They are trapped there, granted. Nice, colorful popøyeblikk.

“Diana”

The song could have been taken from a sound rack from the eighties, type “Footloose.” Nothing wrong with that. Mini Stage lowered again and Styles – by a wide margin the most energetic of the four – are the first to jump in speed and start jog back to the mothership.

“No Control”

Fresh, “snappy” ungdomsskolepop that really speeds armveivingen in public. Halve stadium have included colorful balloons – an obvious beforehand “agreed” ritual on the occasion of this particular song. Always cool to see so many happy people. Tomlinson crumble completely during his brief verse, but will be forgiven again.

“What Makes You Beautiful”

“Vintage” One Direction! (Thus four years old song). Nice this. Styles – who looks like a young, more normally proportioned Mick Jagger – is about to run out of breath, but keep fighting. It has become darker, so the lights come into their own. Tenåringspop and teenage hysteria at its most pleasant.

“Through The Dark”

“Are the girls okay?” Shouts Styles. Hviiin! Hyyyl! “Are the lads OK?”. [Silence]. Payne has a somewhat nerve-racking tends to break out laughing every time he sings the first verse alone, and this is more Mumford & amp; Sons- ish last dozen. Tomlinson vocals fail once again – the boy can not sing, you know. But he is good to pour water over his head to Payne. Which he does.

“Girl Almighty”

Special rollicking pop. Noel Gallagher would have settled deep and contented down in the armchair after authored the line “she floats through the room on a big balloon.” The audience seems to be able to live with missed by Zayn Malik, One Directions dark and mysterious “bad boy” who left them in March – probably to grapple with a shot solo career. Fireworks sets a dramatic and sulfur vapor sentence.

“Story Of My Life”

Until mobile phones again (the pro fans have with “selfiestenger”). It is one of the best ballads theirs, but the audience sings it more fervently than the four onstage. The above showing signs of wear now. But they now hangs in the hop.

“You & amp; In “

The pause before the first encore is long. Some begin to walk toward the exits. Screams that rise up when they return However, if possible, even more intense than those who met them at the concert’s start. Styles have changed from fluttering white shirt black T-shirt and has tied up her long hair in a bun behind his head. Quiet Dance Ballad, which borrows much from the former speedy tiders pop (so too brave parents can relate), performed with fynd and hug, especially av’n Harry. Tomlinson is promoting water bottles once it is over, and it is once again Payne being fucked. Imp!

“Little White Lies”

A concert that was top-heavy on hits, and then to suffer from second song material in the middle, entering the home stretch . Horan clinging faithfully to the guitar, and the band give what is of bombast – tomtom-ointments and cymbalpisking – to the last chorus.

“Best Song Ever”

“Best Song Ever” might not even One Directions “best song ever.” But do not attempt to say something like that to this audience. Everything turned on fully to the stage, and the crowd fireworks corresponds to the total consumption in an average sized Norwegian town on New Year’s Eve. Very “rock.” And undeniably fun.

Curious which dice concert received in total? Read the judgment here!
