Both mother and son are doing well, according to a brief statement on the Swedish the court website.
The boy was born at 13.45 Monday and is the second child of Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O’Neil.
The birth took place just two days after the Princess’ brother, Prince Carl Philip, married Sofia Hellqvist.
– Madeleine born at Danderyd Hospital, and it is going to be held a press conference during the day, said the court press officer Margareta Thorngren to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.
The exact due date is not known, but it was in advance estimated to be sometime in late June.
The couple already has daughter Leonore, who was one year in February. She was born in a hospital in New York, where the couple lived for several years before moving to Stockholm.
King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia have three grandchildren: Crown Princess Victoria’s daughter Princess Estelle (3) and thus Princess Madeleine’s daughter Princess Leonore (1) and her newborn little brother.
The newborn prince becomes the sixth in tron sequence by Crown Princess Victoria, Princess Estelle, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine and Princess Leonore.
