“Moomins at the Riviera” – Aftenbladet.no

Do not you remember reading a children’s book titled “Moomins at the Riviera”? Quite right. This animated film is based on the English-language comic strips as Tove Jansson got printed in newspapers around the world in the 1950s. One of the stories is about when Moomin family ends up in luxury hotels on the Mediterranean Sea shore.

The timeless is as follows: Moomin loves his dear Snorkfrøken but tormented by jealousy as she dazzled by a oily, selfish charmer. The guy is also friends with an arrogant, female celebrity who Snorkfrøken Daan to meet the luxury hotel where Moomintroll family, stay at the royal suite (oddly enough). Snorkfrøken go even at the casino to win money to buy a sexy bikini!

It is outdated way: At a time when Norwegian families are accustomed to rest in nice hotels, dress up in the latest fashions and eat and drink plenty, I do verily not about Jansson-morality enters, the one that says Mummies have the best by leaving the Riviera empty life and go home to the peaceful Mummidalen where they can stay in the tower house and gardening.

Now well. The film fuses Quite pleasant of place with a history of a pirate ship where little My sister and her Mymlen captured. The two are fine dubbed with distinctive voices, but disappears almost out or soga when it moved to the Riviera. Pity, for little My is a delightful angry being who creates lash and temperament around the naïve Moomin trolls.

Also last Moomintroll film, “The comet comes” (2010), made me ambivalent. Sure, you’d love to immerse themselves in Mummitroll the innocent idyll but ends with a sense Janssons 1940s, 50s and 60s the world seems very remote.
