Not so good idea to make because entertainment about deep sorrow.
DRAMA
“Collateral Beauty”
united STATES. Allowed for all. Director: David Frankel.
With: Will Smith, Kate Winslet, Edward Norton.
It does not go more than a couple of minutes of “Collateral Beauty” before the taste of vomit comes into your mouth.
It happens while Howard (Smith) is still on top of the world, as a “poet” and “philosopher” in the advertising industry. He is holding a speech for his employees and he asks them: “What is your why?”. For as to claim that creative’s primary task is to make “people’s lives better”.
Aha. Just.
But it will be worse, much worse. Three years later, Howard komatøs of grief, completely left on the sidelines of his daughter’s death two years earlier.
his Partners at the advertising agency – which has its struggles (infertility, illness, divorces) – want to sell your company. But they don’t get Howard in the speech. He’s too busy to build dominokonstruksjoner in the office, so to rip them, sit in lotusstilling in the apartment in the dark and ride a bike in the middle of the road, against the direction of travel, in New York City.

So what do partners friends! – his? They decide to play further with Howard’s fragile mental health.
they do This by hiring three actors to gestalte Love (Kiera Knightley), the Time (Jacob Latimore) and Death (Helen Mirren). These – “the three abstraksjonene” – are terms Howard is so busy that he has written and mailed a letter to “them” after the tragedy. (They are also a manuskonstruksjon swiped from Charles Dickens’ “A christmas carol”).
Now, Love, Death and Time “and ” confront” Howard in everyday life and on the street. The best/worst that can happen is that Howard will be declared crazy and lose control of the board of directors. Then the colleagues selling, and all be rich (yes, they invoke noble intentions). Hooray.
Out of this initially tragic, and, secondly, diabolical premise has director David Frankel tried to create a heart-warming drama, which he also wants to work as a bit of sexy romantic comedy with (grief work-as-sjekkemulighet).
It is gone so it had to go. Spectacularly wrong.

“Collateral Beauty” contains a generous amount of the most unbearable and embarrassing scenes this reviewer has seen at the cinema in ever so long. It is now so. But the film’s biggest problem is that the in his probably well-meant zeal for comfort ends up with to insult all those who know what sorrow is (and he knows, sooner or later, all). It marks the point where sentimentality and sadism crosses the ring.
The banal story, with its idiotic postcards-kvasifilosofi, claiming in full earnest that it sits on the the answers to what life and death and the things which really is. Yes, it is even cheeky enough to ask your audience about something so impossible as to discover the “accidental beauty” in a six-year-old child’s death.
It is, as all realize, is very difficult.
Long before the last manustvisten occurs you’re jaw-dropping departure in kinostolen, paralyzed by the thought of how so many good actors to be able to find to say “yes” to the “Collateral Beauty”s surely unintentional, but nevertheless, completely insane smakløshet.
