Pia Tjelta, Marianne the Hole and Trond Espen Seim is among 15 actors who Tuesday became a permanent employee at the national theatre.
Never before has the director of the theater Hanne Tømta employed so many at one time. Several of the actors have been employed on long contracts, but only now have they got permanent employment, writes NRK.
- I experience it as a great vote of confidence from the teatersjefen, which I am, of course very honored and happy. It means a lot to know that I can be allowed to be an actor until I am an old lady, ” says Pia Tjelta to the channel.
There are educated between 70 and 80 Norwegian actors every year, but there are only 164 permanent positions at the nation’s theatres.
In addition to the Tjelta, Hole and Seim received the following twelve permanent job at the national theatre Tuesday: Jonas Beach Gravli, John Emil Jørgensrud, Marian Saastad Ottesen, Selome Emnetu, Bernhard Arnø, Håkon Ramstad, Erland Hills, Olav Waastad, Kjersti Bottom Sandal, Andrea Bræin Hovig, Heidi Goldmann, Ine Jansen.
