Two Oscar-nominations to the Tyldums film – Filmweb

In 2015 the Norwegian director Morten Tyldum collect an Oscar for his international debut, “The Imitation Game”. Now he gets the chance again with his first big Hollywood movie “Passengers”.

Tyldums film “Passengers” has been nominated in the categories of best design and best original score. The former, by Guy Hendrix Dyas “(“Inception”) and Gene Serdena (“The Fighter”). The latter is by Thomas Newman, known for the music for movies like “WALL·E”, “Freedom rain” and “Skyfall”.

two years ago was “The Imitation Game” nominated in eight categories, but won only one – best adapted screenplay by Graham Moore.

Morten Tyldums science fiction film with Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt in the lead roles got quite a lukewarm reception by the critics, yet had recorded 239 million dollars – closer to 2 billion – worldwide per 19. January, according to the website IMDb.

the Film has a budget of 110 million dollars and premiered in the united STATES 14. December. For comparison, the budget of “The Imitation Game” at 14 million dollars. The film had according to IMDb grossed over 215 million dollars worldwide as of april 2015.

Oscar-awards will be awarded in Tyldums new hometown of Los Angeles on the night of Monday 27. February, Norwegian time.
