11 reasons why we LOVED 90210 – Side2

(Page2): There are hardly any television series we have loved more than Beverly Hills 90210. From the first episode came on the air on October 4, 1990, it was taken off for good on 17 May 2000, we set glued to the screen, and followed Beverly Hills gang’s ups and downs (there were many downs in the course of ten years, to put it that way).

It’s almost unreal that it is 25 years since we were familiar with Brandon, Brenda, Dylan, Kelly, Donna, David and Steve.

Since it is now just over 15 years since the series was taken off for good, we think it is appropriate with a flashback. Here are 11 reasons why we loved, loved, loved Beverly Hills 90210.

1. Dylan McKay

Luke Perry as Dylan McKay is single-handedly the very biggest reason we had (and still has) an intense love affair with Beverly Hills 90210. He was so outrageously handsome and had so deep voice ( we had never heard so deep voices either on Brøttum or Klæbu). Also, he had bad boy (motorcycle and leather jacket) -Image combined with the always slightly troubled expression on his face.

2. Donna Martin graduates

When Poor Donna was expelled from high school just before the end, and seemed to lose exam, mobilized all the students to protest with rhythmic cries: “Donna Martin graduates, Donna Martin graduates”! (We can reveal that in Klæbu was arranged similar train). For a classic scene! Solidarity, friendship and goosebumps!

3. Dream Life

First and foremost, we were fascinated by it seemingly magical dream life students at West Beverly High survived. Fine clothes, nice cars, palm trees on the way to school – not to mention the period where Kelly and Donna stayed ON the beach! It was so far away from everyday life here at home that it was possible to get.

4. Peach Pit

They had their own regular cafe, how they ate burger and club sandwich, drank milkshakes and ice tea – and talked about life. And always sat at the same table. It was so cool! On convenience store Brøttum they did not table once!

5. Hold on

Jamie Walters entered 90210 in 1994, the aspiring singer-songwriter Ray Pruit. He was quickly sweetheart Donna, but proved to be an unreliable guy with violent tendencies. He struck Donna and disappeared out of the series after two seasons. Allikvel we must never forget that the monster hit “Hold on” came out of Jamie Walters stay in the series.

6. Brandon and Brenda

Gemini Walsh from Minnesota. That came to Beverly Hills as the all-time outsiders, but still managed to get his friends and be part of the coolest gang. We loved to follow sibling relationship, not to mention the relationship with their parents, Jim and Cindy, who was strict but fair sick.

7. Valerie Malone

Tiffani Amber Thiessen-making all-time runs in season 5, which Brandon and Brenda’s old friend from Minnesota. She runs with dope, the lover of all (or sleep with them) and become enemies with absolutely ALL the girls. Not even Paradise Hotel could staged a better “check”. Of course it turns out that everything stems in a tragic childhood, and she may end up moving from town. But it was dramatically while it lasted.

8. Poor Kelly

No one is exposed to severe trials than poor Kelly Taylor, played by Jennie Garth. She had heartbreak constant difficulty relationship with his mother (OG father), was long dependent on drugs, had anorexia, she was raped, had dysfunctional relationship to virtually any boyfriends, were sexually harassed at work, attacked with a knife, raped again, bought a pistol, killing the rapist, found a baby in a garbage cans, were shot, had amnesia … NO had it tougher than Kelly Taylor.

9. When David rescued Donna

Donna was also subjected to a great deal through ten seasons. One of the most dramatic was when she was nearly raped in her own home. But at the last minute she gets rescued by David, who understands that something is afoot afoot when she calls him “Dave”. For she did in fact never!

10. Davids music career

David dreamed of becoming postjerne, and worked a stint in the series also as DJ. This is so ’90s as it is possible, and very, very entertaining – even in retrospect!

11. Vincent Young

In Season 8 came Noah Hunter, played by Vincent Young, in with a bang. At first he had a brief relationship with Valerie, before he was with Donna. And he was so handsome, so handsome! Some members of the editorial staff had “Noah” written with hearts around on penals and school day books for years – and still remember that he has a birthday on June 4.
