Derfor døde Seinfeld-Susan – Side2

(Page2): 20 years after “Seinfeld Susan,” played by Heidi Swedberg, dead, reveals Jason Alexander, who played George, why they wrote her out of the series.

– I could not figure out how to play with her. Her instinctive way to play a comic scene in, was always quite unlike mine, said Alexander in an interview on “The Howard Stern Show” this week.

Died of envelope licking

Susan first came into the series in Season 4, and quickly began dating George. He proposed to her in season 7, but realized early on that he actually wanted to marry her anyway.

But George does not manage to do it eventually, and the couple is going so far as to send out wedding invitations. George buys cheap envelopes for invitations, which proves to be his salvation. Susan is in fact poisoned by the glue for envelopes, and die in the last episode of season 7.

slander everything and everyone

But it was not Alexander alone who took the decision to write Swedberg character out of the series, although it was perhaps on his initiative.

The idea was discussed at a diner (almost like in the series) with medskuespillerne Jerry Seinfeld, Michael Richards (Cramer), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (Elaine) and director Larry David.

– We used to go out after each episode, just us four and Larry, to eat a little and get to slander everything and everyone. I said all the time: “I’m going crazy, guys, you take their toll on me. I do not understand how to work with this lady. This is not working. “

The rest of the actors did not fully understand the problem, until they had to play against Swedberg.

– said Julia fact: ‘Are not you just kill her? “

repent

In retrospect of the interview with Howard Stern, Alexander asked Swedberg apologize, writes The Sydney Morning Herald.

In a long Twitter, message, he writes among other things:

“I just want to apologize. I and the rest of the actors really like Heidi. She is a kind and wonderful person who worked hard to create Susan, and the character was clearly the Larry and Jerry will that she would be for George. I just felt that I did not know quite how to play against the character, and I was always concerned that it did not work well enough. “
