TV 2 is criticized for celebrity focus: – Comical -smp.no – Sunnmørsposten

This year’s edition of Extreme ended last Sunday, an event that has branches climbing, hang gliding, longboarding and rafting.

This year TV2 invested heavily in Extreme.

In the channel’s broadcasts from Voss has several celebrities participated. For have movie star Aksel Hennie and TV2 profile Davy Wathne has parachuted.

Some are not thrilled kjendisopptredenene. Commenting titled “The reality show Extreme” is Anders Holtet, journalist in the open air site friflyt.no, hard against TV 2.

He believes the program has too little focus on the major sports achievements during the event.

“Is really extreme in Norway so boring that we need Harald Bredeli wind tunnel to captivate television viewers?” writes Anders Holtet in your comment.

In his response to the criticism memories Christine Espeland, editorial director of TV 2 Sporten, the channel’s audience.

– Our task is to create content for a wide audience, not just athletes of extreme sports, writes Espeland in an email to Aftenposten.

Look, climbs oldefar

– At times comic

Anders Holtet and website he works for is very keen sports. He points out Dag Sandvik second place in the coveted paddle competition and Aleksander Aurdal victory in Big Air contest that events TV2 should spent more time.

– Several athletes in Extreme is both serious and active. In my eyes they deserve more than to lose one’s attention match against celebrities. Please help us build up these athletes and sports, instead of messing it away in neat grid issues, writes Holtet.

Aftenposten tells Holtet that he has received positive feedback on the commentary, but he can not pronounce on whether TV2 coverage has created frustration in the environment as a whole.

– It is not surprising that TV 2 stock commercial TV, it is so far what they are doing. I believe, however, that it is surprising that they go into so many irrelevant celebrities, and that one must have higher standards than that. It is at times comic, says Holtet Aftenposten.

Christine Espeland says she is unsure whether friflyt.no has adequately followed by the broadcasts.

– Those who followed our daily broadcasts on TV 2 Sport channel so that we we had different theme from day to day where we took for us sports on Veko – with performers in the studio. In addition, we wanted profiles in full action to create a little extra attention Extreme, says Espelund.

She points to several athletes who fit in TV2 broadcasts, including glider Morten Knapstad and parachute made from Skydive Dubai.

The last time she was on the extreme triathlon, ended Mariann Sæther on the operating table. Monday hit her back.

Paying for rights

NRK had rights to Ekstremsportveko to 2013. The last two years, TV 2 sent the event.

Earlier this year organizers have paid 400,000 for NRK to broadcast Extreme. Now pay careful TV2 for sending, the general manager of Extreme Sofie Torlei Olsen Previous Bore confirmed to the newspaper Hordaland.

– In this way, it is positive that TV 2 enters cover, as a more independent media channel, writes Holtet, adding that it also involves “increasing pressure to deliver results for the channel.”

Christine Espeland in TV2 reports that the channel will take Holt criticism into consideration.

– We will of course take the criticism with us in the evaluation, says Espeland.
