The Consumer Ombudsman has conducted an audit of the country’s most popular bloggers to see if the labeling of advertising was good enough. The audit shows that bloggers have become less adept at brand advertising messages since last Forbrukerombudet oversaw, writes Aftenposten.
Of the 40 bloggers who were checked had 21 broken Marketing Act several times. The Consumer Ombudsman has now sent a letter to those concerned and ask them to sharpen up. Consumer Ombudsman considered sanctions in the form of such fines, but found that it was not appropriate this time.
Tone Damli Aaberge is one of the bloggers Consumer Ombudsman believes has violated Marketing Act. She says she has taken to heart the Consumer Ombudsman has written.
– I feel I have come firmly into the rules, and will be careful in future, says Sindy Aftenposten.
